1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files, and browser storage (such as localStorage) is data, that a website can ask your browser to keep, usually to remember something between visits or pages.
2. What this site actually uses
This site does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any behavioural tracking. We checked the site's code and a live browser session for cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and service workers before writing this page, and found none of those in normal production use.
During local development only, Next.js (the framework this site is built with) sets its own short-lived, first-party cookie and a sessionStorage entry purely to support live-reloading while developers work on the site. These do not exist once the site is built and deployed for visitors, and they have nothing to do with you or your activity on the site.
3. Map tiles
When you open the pick-up/drop-off map, your browser loads map tiles directly from OpenFreeMap (built on OpenStreetMap data), and — only if that fails — from OpenStreetMap's own raster tile service as a fallback. Those providers may set their own cookies or storage under their own domains, outside this site's control; see their own policies at openfreemap.org and osmfoundation.org.
4. Why there is no cookie-consent banner
Because this site sets no analytics, advertising or optional tracking cookies of its own, there is nothing non-essential to ask your permission for. A banner offering an "Accept" / "Reject" choice with nothing real behind it would be misleading rather than helpful, so we have not added one. If that changes — for example, if analytics is added in future — this page and this decision will be revisited, and a genuine consent mechanism (equally easy Accept and Reject, no boxes pre-ticked, nothing loaded before you choose) will be put in place first.
5. How to control cookies generally
You can control or delete cookies through your browser's own settings at any time. Since this site does not rely on cookies for its core functionality (browsing pages, viewing the fleet, submitting an enquiry), blocking cookies should not prevent you from using it.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if what the site actually uses changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
